Before You Make a Payment
Open your K-Electric duplicate bill and verify the account, billing period and due date. Check whether the figure you are using is the amount before or after the due date. A saved copy from an earlier month may show an out-of-date balance.
If you recently paid, check that transaction before attempting another payment. A pending bank transaction and an unpaid-looking PDF can exist at the same time. The PDF is a document, not necessarily a live transaction-status screen.
This website does not collect bill payments, card details, passwords or one-time codes. Its links are guidance for reaching official services. See our independence and service disclaimer.
Reconcile Household and Business Payments
For a Household
Check who paid, which meter account was used and the billing month. Keep the receipt with the bill so another family member does not pay twice.
Residential Payment ChecklistFor a Business
Match the account to the branch or premises and retain the approval and payment record. A calculator subtotal is neither the payable amount nor a tax invoice.
Commercial Reconciliation ChecklistFor either account type, resolve a pending transaction through the payment provider and KE’s records. A previously downloaded PDF may not reflect a later payment.
Choose a Supported Payment Channel
KE lists bill-payment information on its official bills and e-payments page. Depending on your provider, options can include internet or mobile banking, ATMs, approved payment services and over-the-counter channels. Availability and fees can change. Confirm support with the provider you intend to use.
In a trusted banking or wallet app, open the bill-payment area, choose electricity and select the correct K-Electric biller. Enter the identifier that provider requests. Do not assume every app uses the same label or number format.
Before confirming, compare the account or customer information returned by the app with your bill. If the account is not recognized or the amount is unexpected, stop and verify the details instead of trying similar biller names.
Payment Checks Before You Confirm
Use this sequence inside your chosen payment service before authorizing the transaction.
- Confirm the bill belongs to your connection and the period you intend to pay.
- Open the official channel or payment app directly.
- Select the correct biller and enter the requested identifier carefully.
- Review the fetched account, payable amount and any provider fee.
- Authorize the payment using the provider’s normal process.
- Save the receipt, transaction reference, date and amount.
Never share an OTP with someone offering to “clear” your bill. If you receive an unsolicited payment link, open your trusted app or KE’s website yourself instead of relying on the message.
Keep Proof of Payment
Save the provider’s successful-payment receipt and transaction reference. A screenshot can be useful, but retain the receipt or statement record too. Store it alongside the downloaded bill for the same month.
A successful payment response from the provider is different from a downloaded bill. This website cannot mark a bill paid or confirm the status of your bank transaction. For account reconciliation, use the official KE service and the provider’s transaction history.
If another person pays on your behalf, ask for the receipt and confirm that the correct account was used. Avoid sharing login credentials to make that possible.
If Your Account Was Debited but Payment Is Pending
Check the status inside the payment provider’s app or transaction history. Note the exact transaction reference, amount and time. Follow that provider’s stated processing or reversal guidance. Do not assume a universal posting time.
If the provider confirms successful payment but the balance remains unresolved, contact KE’s official support. Provide relevant proof through their approved channel and keep the complaint reference. For a failed or reversed transaction, ask the provider whether funds have returned before trying again.
Do not automatically repeat a payment while the first one is unresolved. Two separate successful transactions may require later account reconciliation.
Due Dates, Late Amounts and Billing Disputes
Use the due date and applicable payable amount printed on the issued bill. Downloading a duplicate, submitting a complaint or using this guide does not extend the deadline. Ask KE directly about any adjustment, installment arrangement or extension. Eligibility cannot be determined by this website.
If the bill itself appears wrong, use the charge explanation guide to identify the disputed component and follow billing troubleshooting. Keep any official instructions you receive. Return to the homepage for the bill access link and related tools.
