KE Residential and Commercial Tariff Rates
Compare the energy rate and fixed-charge basis separately. The rate per unit is only one part of your electricity bill.

The dash for lifeline reflects the published schedule, not a claim that every other charge is waived. TOU fixed charges apply once using the billing-load rule below. They are not separate peak and off-peak fixed charges.

The per-kW rows need the fixed-charge billing demand confirmed on the bill or by KE. The domestic 50%-of-sanctioned-load note is not automatically applied to commercial accounts. These figures exclude taxes and other bill components.
Business Use Does Not Always Mean A-2
Check your bill’s tariff code. Temporary commercial, EV-charging, industrial, bulk and agricultural categories are distinct. The regular A-2 calculator does not substitute for those schedules.
Commercial Taxes and Adjustments
Tax registration, exemptions and the period can affect the issued bill. Review the commercial charge checklist. Do not apply residential tax assumptions or protected slabs to a business account.
How Load Determines Fixed Charges
The published rate is charged per kW each month. The applicable load differs between non-time-of-use and time-of-use connections.
Non-Time-of-Use Domestic Accounts
Annex C, note 1, applies fixed charges based on sanctioned load. Multiply the rate in the relevant consumption band by the approved connection load in kW.
For example, a 2 kW unprotected connection using 300 units has a fixed-charge component of 2 × PKR 350 = PKR 700 under this schedule. Treating PKR 350 as the whole account’s flat charge would understate it.
Time-of-Use Domestic Accounts
Annex C, note 2, uses the higher of 50% of sanctioned load or recorded maximum demand (MDI). Multiply that billing load by PKR 675 per kW per month.
For a 5 kW connection with MDI of 3 kW, compare 2.5 kW with 3 kW. The fixed-charge component is 3 × PKR 675 = PKR 2,025. The notification includes a separate February 2026 transition note where MDI was unavailable. That historical case is not modeled by our calculator.
September–November 2026 Adjustment
SRO 1501(I)/2026, dated 7 September 2026, specifies a positive quarterly adjustment of PKR 0.5194 per kWh for September, October and November 2026, including applicable K-Electric consumers.
The notification excludes lifeline consumers, units billed under the incremental consumption package, and prepaid consumers. It also addresses bills issued before notification and compliance with court orders. Account-specific application should be checked against the issued bill.
This is a quarterly adjustment, not a replacement for the energy rates above and not an FCA rate. The calculator shows it separately for its supported regular residential and commercial scenarios. Read the official notification before applying it to a different type of account.
Residential Categories Have Different Eligibility Rules
Confirm your classification before comparing rates. A change in monthly usage does not by itself establish a different account category.
Lifeline and Protected
These categories have eligibility conditions beyond choosing the lowest rate in a table. Your consumption history and connection characteristics can matter. A single low-consumption month does not prove that your account qualifies.
Use the category on your bill or confirm it with official KE support. The calculator accepts a category you supply. It does not determine or change eligibility.
Unprotected and Time of Use
An unprotected non-TOU calculation selects the rate associated with total monthly units. The calculation is not a progressive application of every lower band.
A TOU account separates peak and off-peak units. Use the actual registers and load information on your bill. For commercial accounts use the separate A-2 table. Neither table is an industrial tariff model.
Why Two Bills with Similar Units Can Differ
Different categories, sanctioned loads and peak/off-peak patterns can produce different energy and fixed charges. Billing periods, FCA, quarterly adjustments, duties, taxes, surcharges and earlier balances can further affect the amount due.
Check both the notification date and the period in which a charge is billed. An adjustment can relate to costs from an earlier period while appearing on a later document. A search result showing an old unit rate does not establish the rate on your current account.
For a practical review, start with understand your bill, then compare individual components. If you only need the amount to pay, open the issued KE bill instead of reconstructing it from a rate table.
